  1. I want a camcorder for shooting documentaries/short films and news type items like marches and parades. But I want to be able to control depth of field. Some I have looked at are in the 1500 euro range and that would be the lower priced ones . I hate the flat look of cheap camcorders/mobile phone footage where you cannot make the subject stand out with blurry background. For creative reasons i want to have a shallow dof. can anyone suggest a prosumer model.

    I have a Nikon D3200 and it shoots movie but you have to hold it out in front and look through the LCD and that makes for shaky footage

    Why not get a loupe for your Nikon so you can use the LCD as a viewfinder, for example this one. Cheaper too!
