Hi
I have been trying to play some vhsc tapes in an adapter in my vcr but its not playing.
I have made sure there are new batteries in the adapter.
It goes into the machine, then if I hit play it turns the vcr off. It won't rewind or FF either.
I have tried on 2 vcrs.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Kells

Make sure the VHSC cassette is free to move and isn't jammed.
I'm not that familiar with the cassettes themselves, but if similar to the a full VHS size,
they should have a release button on the bottom so you can manually move the tape.
If that's all OK, take a closer look at the adapter and see if it's mechanically working.
It may also be that your adapter is just for a particular deck. Or you may need to replace it if it's malfunctioning. -
There is an exposed gear on the bottom of the cassette. Turn it by hand to take up any slack in the tape.
