I've spent nearly 3 days trying every free and paid tool I've been able to recover a .mts file. The file is ~2GB and was recorded using a Sony HDR-CX220 and still sits in the original folder structure (although copied to SSD).
The video should be about 22 minutes long but about 1m30s into the video regardless of the player the video skips, hangs, then abruptly jumps to the last 60 seconds, replays the same 10 seconds over and over and then ends.
I feel like the content is there somewhere and some type of index is out of sync but I don't have the skill to assess or repair the file.
I'd gladly pay someone for any assistance they could provide.

You might drop it into a hex editor to see if there is any data in the missing part. If it's all zeros or similar, probably no data.
I use the hex editor in Virtual Dub. If you can open it with VD, the hex editor may work.
And have you checked it with MediaInfo to see if it shows anything?
But others here may have some better suggestions.
And welcome to our forums. -
It doesn't look like VirtualDub is a fan of .mts
MediaInfo seems to have plenty of information -

Those cameras have some repair functions built in. Did you try both methods of transferring the file to the computer - from the SD card and directly from the camera via USB?
-
could tsdoctor repair it ? videoredo has a "quickstream fix" that might be able to help , I think it might be functional in the trial version
You mentioned "regardless of player" - I'm assuming software - but could you play it in camera ?
if you demux a/v with tsmuxer, can you remux (either back into transport stream or other container e.g. try mkvmerge) and play audio and/or video stream separately or together without errors?
