    Hi there,

    I have a little Problem:
I have a vob-file in 16:9. Now i tried to make a smler mp4 fith ffmpex 0.0.9y. But it always convert to normal 3:2 format. It makes no difference if i change the resolution or try autocrop. If i choose the 16:9 preselection, there is only "19:9 (keep high)" available. The mp4 is always to high. How can i get the right output?

    Thanks a lot.

  2. ffmpegx is ancient. Use something newer. Either ffmpeg directly from the command-line or if that is too complicated for you try something like HandBrake.

This seems like an old problem, that pixel aspect ratio in the MP4 isn’t set correctly, which then defaults the display aspect ratio to 4:3 for many players.
Back in 2010, I wrote an AppleScript to fix that: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/318299-stretching-or-cramming-aspect-ratio-when-I-...ert-avi-to-MP4
