Hi all
Not sure if this is the correct place for this somewhat unusual question. Please move if necessary!
I have bought a Bluray set UK release of Knight Rider) only to find there are issues with the colorspace.
I read about it online after ordering and it's pretty clear to see the blacks are really crushed.
Apparently what has happened is that the files have been encoded using a 0-255 colorspace but are flagged on the BD as 16-235.
Now after a bit of forum trawling, I believe that Handbrake (which I was planning to use anyway) will convert the colorspace to 16-235, BUT in order for this to happen it needs to "see" the input as 0-255. In order to do this I need to do one of two things:
1) Force handbrake into ignoring the input file flag and tell it with a parameter what it actually is
2) edit the flag of the file so it reads 0-255
Not sure if either of these are possible, but I'm hoping someone can help!
Thanks
Nick
