I'm not a person that makes a lot of dvds to play on a dvd player. But every once in while I need to make one. I've been using devede on linux mint for a year or so. I noticed at the end of 2016 that something changed. While the program was simply called devede it is now called devede NG. I was running version 4.4.0-1 because it is in the mint repositories. But due to some problems I downloaded the deb file for 4.8.8. I removed the first one and then installed the new one. The first problem I noticed with devede NG was that when I loaded in several videos and made a dvd what played back was not in order of the titles. This time around I have no idea if the versions I'm using has that problem or not. But the biggest issue I'm having now is that every time I convert a mp4 file into the iso file for burning a dvd, the result is blurry video. I made a 9 minute video showing what I'm doing. I hope if I'm doing anything wrong you can point it out for me.

Your test clip source file is a screen capture with small text. That is, the finest details are computer screen resolution. (Which is what? 1920x1080 perhaps?)
DVD resolution is much smaller: 720x480 (for NTSC), which is not 720p, but 480i. If you blow that up to full screen, it will get blurry, as each pixel of information gets stretched out over 6 pixels on screen (2.67×2.25). That is of no fault of any software, that is just the limit of DVD-Video.
Your software is fine, I guess you expected too much of DVD: it is not HD. -
I don't understand it because when I had the older version of devede it worked just fine. Here is what I mean:

I did a lot of testing. I think your right. I don't understand why things used to turn out better for me. The only thing I can come up with is I must have been delusional.
