watching the season finale of the Blacklist Redemption, the I.T. guy was re-booting this elaborate system involving tons of servers, this was on the screen momentarily, I found this a bit odd, a BIOS screen from 1999..... any accuracy in this show ?

  2. What makes you think it's from 1999? That's how the BIOS in this PC looks. The MB is about 8 years old. It's probably only the last 3 years or so that MB manufacturers predominantly switched to UEFI.

It reminded me of old bios screens from the Millenium era, system time is 11:59:00. Why would a show written for 2017 have that old a bios ? I've noticed in many TV shows computer equipment seems way outdated for what they're supposed to be doing.

  4. Maybe they are using stock footage for those computer clips which would explain the oldness.

I think you're right....it might be easier just to show any old computer equipment rather than setup it up for whatever show is currently airing

  6. The computer has 128Gb of RAM and it's a VMWare server, so it probably has at least a few host servers running on it.
However, the floppy disc is pretty old LOL

I know my Dell from like 2010 has a BIOS screen that looks similar to that, stuff has not really changed much in the BIOS GUI department over the decades. It's not uncommon for servers to still have at least one floppy drive, somewhere in the array. And I doubt there were many servers in 1999 with 128GB of RAM.
