My friend always sends me upside down videos shot with a phone (either Galaxy or LG). Is there a lightweight app for Windows that can correct the orientation flag? I use MPC-BE as a player.

    Thanks

  2. ffmpeg can set the flag:
    ffmpeg -i "input.mp4" -map 0 -metadata:s:v rotate=180 -c copy "output.mp4"

But is the problem really the missing flag or your filter chain? The renderer has to be compatible. Go MPC-BE options > "Video" and set renderer to "Enhanced Video Renderer (custom presenter)", "Sync Renderer" or "madvr".

Does he hold the phone upside down?
    Or he just processes badly?
Or perhaps you have a local codec issue?
