When I load an x265 video into SubtitleWorkshop and play it I do not see the video, just a black screen, but I do hear the audio. I do not have this problem with SubtitleEdit but I do not like using SE for syncing subtitles. It’s my understanding that SW uses ffdshow drivers and I have the latest.
Am I missing the obvious somewhere?

ffdshow cannot decode H.265/HEVC video. Try uninstalling ffdshow and other filters (e.g. Haali Media Splitter) and install LAV Filters instead.

Hello, dear all.
If I install LAV Filters on my PC SubtitleWorkshop can open videos from x265, x264, MP4, and other formats / containers / codecs?
Do I need to do something on SubtitleWorkshop's settings to perform such video opening?
Thanks.
Best regards.

devil,
You shouldn't have to do anything. I don't believe there are many video settings, if any.
After installing the LAV filters, and removing all others, things worked great.
I didn't have to make any changes to SW settings.
