  1. I have some old TV series files that I want to watch on my Samsung HDTV. I have tried to convert them to MP4 and AVI using Video Converter Factory Pro and WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe.

A few errors occur.... sound goes out of sync, it freezes, or it starts rolling.

Here is the Media Info File

  3. Hi

    It`s a 40" EH6030 3D Full HD LED TV

  4. How did you get to that bizarre 46.857 frame rate?

  5. that is the media file of the original file in mkv which I downloaded

  6. The USB players built into TVs are very basic, and usually not compatible with the random type of formatting you'll find in downloaded TV files. The TVs expect very rigid, flawless video formats that adhere religiously to formal specs. Such perfect files aren't reliably available from internet sources: your average uploader codes video worse than a drunken sailor.

You'll save yourself a lot of grief by buying a cheap, dedicated external media player device that accepts your USB drives and plays them out to the TV via USB or HDMI. Or, if you have a BluRay player, connect your video drives to its USB port and use its media player features. Either external option will give you much less trouble, and play way more files than the TV itself.

  7. There's three TVs with built in media players in our house and they all play pretty much any common format/video type I throw at them. Two are 5yo Samsung TVs, the third's a 2yo Palsonic. The Palsonic is cheap and nasty and has a terribly average picture, but it's media player has no problem with all the standard formats.

    TV Addict,
Try opening the MKV with MKVMergeGUI and remuxing it as a new MKV. If it contains attachments or streams you don't require, disable them before remuxing (especially attachments). It won't take long to save a new MKV and often it'll fix problems, assuming the file itself isn't corrupt, although you should see error messages when remuxing if it is. On paper at least, your MKV should be playable by pretty much anything that supports AVC video.

I think you're referring to the audio frame rate.

Can also be good to add --clusters-in-meta-seek --disable-track-statistics-tags --engage no_cue_duration --engage no_cue_relative_position as additional output options. (more info)
But I agree. Had good experiences with a rather old Samsung TV. Not really picky. But orsetto's advice isn't bad either. You can get cheap media boxes these days, slap Kodi or w/e on it and things should be good. If it's just one file then re-encode.

  9. Hi

    Thanks for all the feedback,

These files work perfectly on my PC. I usually just format to mp4 but this specific tv series is just not working. I will try the MKVMergeGUI and let you know if it worked.
