I am in the process of ripping my DVDs to my Plex library and everything is fine, except for the way subtitles look when i have to crop in Handbrake. It skews the text and its often placed too high.
See pictures.

Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Is this a DVD/VOB source? Then try DVDSubEdit on the VOBs.
Otherwise extract subtitles. Open with BDSup2Sub. Edit>Move all captions. Export, remux and open in HandBrake. -
The problem arises because you're cropping the video. You may have to extract and remux the subs as srt

Yes the sources are retail dvds.
DVDSubEdit looks very interesting. Can it adjust text height and position? or to put it differently, can it make the subtitles look nice like pre-rip?
It would just be nice to know, before I buy a windows license to try this program. I only have a Mac now.
