  1. Hello!

I have only one small (353 MB) video file and it is corrupted. Remo Repair MOV can repair it easily. But the problem is, I'm too poor to buy this software, especially for just one videofile.

Do any of you guys have this software? Can I ask you to repair it for me? It'd be okay to pay for this also. I just can't justify the 70 dollars for one video.

    Thank you in advance!
    Reio.

    Reio.
    I could do it for $ 250.00....

  4. Try downloading TMPGenc smart renderer and running your file through that, there's a free trial.

  5. Wheee, one out of three..

smrpix, I don't understand, how this tool can help me repair the .mov?
    It can't read the video.

  6. I would temporarily upload the file here (max allowed 500MB) so that other people can experiment how to fix the file.

  7. Unfortunately I can't upload them here, but they're on my server - http://reio.keretood.ee/videohelp/
MVI_8992.MOV is the previous video file.
MVI_8993.MOV is the corrupted video file.

    Thank you very very much!

  8. I don't know if you need an exact digital copy of the corrupted file, but (at least for starters, and this may be good enough), you can easily and for free, fix the corrupted file, but the file will not be an exact digital copy. Remo Repair MOV (free trial version) allows you to fix and preview/watch the repaired file. (You just can't save the fixed file unless you pay the $60 software fee.). It's a good thing you provided on your server not only the corrupted file but also a healthy file recorded with the same device. Remo Repair needs both files to be able to repair the corrupted file.
So I used Remo Repair MOV to fix the file, played it to see if it was OK, then played it again and screen captured the video with Debut free screen capture (which you can get here):
    http://files.videohelp.com/u/61125/debutsetupfree.zip
I also uploaded the repaired/screen captured file here. (The resolution that Remo Repair allows for watching/previewing is much lower than if you can save the video.)

Now that $60 program might be more sophisticated but there again it may only extract header information from the good video and merge that with the data in the bad video.

This free program also appears to do this.

    https://www.videohelp.com/software/recover-mp4-to-h264

It does appear to support MOVs as well.

It is a command-line utility and there are various switches you have to consider. But if the video is important to you a little time spent with it may pay dividends.

More so. If you have created one bad video, you may create more in the future so if you can get it to work for you......

  11. jimdagys, thanks, but that's properly poor quality..
DB83, thanks aswell! I've managed to get the best with videohelp, but somehow it only gives out 10 FPS. Otherwise it's okay.

Wow, the guy helps you; he recovers your video so you can at least see and hear most of it; and you say that to him.

It doesn't make me eager to help you the next time you want a favor.

Well I just wasted an hour trying to upload the recovered full HD version - received a security token error.

I will not attempt to repeat the exercise.

But this is simply an extension of the jimdagys demo version example. The recovered full HD version file is on your HDD. You just need to find it and copy it to a safe location BEFORE you close the program

  14. johnmeyer, c'mon, don't be that guy who takes everything as an offence. I know how much time it took from Jim, and I'm very very grateful for it. But that doesn't mean the quality is good. I'm sorry.

D883, that's a good hint. Are you sure it does the preview already in full quality?
I'll try to see what I can do.

EDIT: already found it. It was just in the Remo Program Files folder. Thank you all who helped! And I really mean it. Beers to everyone! You too John!

    Thank you!

  15. Yes, I see the repaired video file is in a hidden folder ($tp) in Program files ( C/Program files/ Remo Repair MOV 2.0/$tp)
    See screenshot.
I got the Remo Repair MOV trial install exe file from their website
but I also uploaded it here:
