Is there an adapter to convert microphones, etc that used the old Sony hot-shoe - the one that only accepted Sony peripherals - so that they can be used with the newer Sony cameras? Not just a physical adapter so you can merely attach the thing to the camera, but one that actually has all the contacts?
I don't know if the electrical specs like voltage and such were different on the old "Sony Only" stuff or not, so it may not be possible. Or maybe you can only get adapters that have the required contacts to trigger a flash or whatnot, but not connect a mic.
Edit: I believe THIS is what I need. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-ADPMAC-SYH-ADPMAC-Shoe-Adapter/dp/B00B1NS9QM Am I right?
