    Hi Everyone,
I need a help. I use a windows 10 app to watch movies on my pc. but the problem is the online video aspect ratio is too wide.
I am looking for a Windows application that is similar to magnifier, to stretch the video visually vertically.

I know how to change aspect ratio for offline video files, i am looking a solution for online content.

    Please help me,

    Thank you,

    Alan

  2. VLC plays video from web, you have to give it particular URL (media/open network stream), then change aspect ratio (video/aspect ratio)

My video are content protected and only the windows app can stream the video. I need some app that can capture the screen in real time and display the video on top of it stretching it vertically. Please help. Even i am ok with two screens. One that plays the original video and the other screen to stretch the video vertically and display using the app that i need.

    Thank you,

    Alan

I'm afraid I don't know of a third-party app that will do what you ask. Might I suggest contacting the developer of that Windows app. It sounds like it's a bug in the program that they should be fixing on their end.

If only. There are plenty of idiots out there that think if you have a widescreen player it should be filled with widescreen video, no matter the original aspect ratio. Maybe that's not the case here and maybe it's really a bug, but I can show you countless videos on YouTube where some clueless idiot completely wrecked the aspect ratio to fill the widescreen player.

If he contacts the developer or uploader, it might be to lodge a complaint about the amateurish video he put on the site.

Unfortunately too true. The only way I can manage to watch some of them is to download them and fix the AR first. Too bad for the OP that it's not quite that easy if it's protected content that's screwed up. I'm sure there must be ways, but thankfully I've never had to figure them out. So hopefully for his sake it is a bug, and not the video itself.

  7. The contact with providers for that video might be a solution because it might mean to just introduce one variable into players API (for player to respect height/width ratio introducing black bars if necessary). But even if that could be a really simple code fixing it could be practically impossible for some, because folks nowadays use different web management systems (like WordPress), or someone did it for them a long time ago and they would not know how to change it.

That is a good scenario. If it is encoded that way, then it needs to be fixed on user's end. Maybe changing DISPLAY values in Windows settings for monitor would render correct or closer to reality outcome.
