Not sure if I did something with my account, but the left column on the website's front page is showing thumbnails of the latest downloads.

How can I turn this off and get back to the list view, like the right column that shows recent forums posts.

I've noticed that too and I must say I don't like it. The thumbnails look like smudges and it just makes the main page look cluttered.
    I prefer the list view.

Looks great on a monitor/laptop/tablet, but would be nice to have the old style if a mobile device like a phone is detected as it does cram the small screen

It looks okaaay... if you like that sort of thing. But IMO the thumbnails are unnecessary, and they just clutter up an otherwise neat and tidy page layout. It would be nice if there were an option to not show them on the main page.

Yep. I will add a site setting later also.

I will soon also upgrade the site to https/ssl. But I must first update(or replace) my old server as Centos 5 doesn't support latest ssl encryption.

You can now enable and disable thumbnails at the bottom of the front page. Under Site layout: Thumbnails (YES / NO ).

ditto to liking it and for the idea!

I like a small preview of what the tool looks like. It can sometimes serve as a reminder of that tool you thinking about or whatever. Adding the option was a good idea so that others who prefer the old way can be happy in their preferred layout.
