    These were part of a group of related and similar videos. I did manage to grab a third one using Fast Video Downloader.
    Six other capture tools including VideoGet and Tubedigger completely failed on the above two, some saying that no video could be found, or 'Network Error.' I may also give this a shot with Ant DL.
    I have Tubedigger, the latest version (6.92) from their website. I tryed the link https://www.amazon.com/vdp/2281b02e99fe495caa1df05bcea659c7?ref=dp_vse_rvc_1, and it downloaded 1.18gb file "4k Boxes Compared Roku, Chromecast, Shield, AppleTV, Fire TV - 1920x1080 10437K.ts", so i guess Tubedigger works

    Thanks for your reply, but see pic for my result, also using Tubedigger 692. What TD settings were you using ? In my case it is on Win 7 x64, which still uses Internet Explorer + default settings. I gather there are some other ways that TD can be set. My other browsers are portable editions of FireFox and Opera. (Ant DL -- which is also keyed to the use of IE -- also returned a similar result to this snapshot. IE is treated now as being "obsolete" at many webpages, which may make some difference.) Portable versions are great, but their operation may not be detected by other programs.

    In TD I use Chromium 3 that has the webm + 4K and in settings detect all bitrates. Try that.

    I tried Google Chrome a couple years ago and did not particularly like it. Not familiar with Chromium forks.
    Some disturbing info came up in a Google search:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Is Chromium browser a virus?
    The Chromium virus is a malicious web browser that is created using the Chromium code. ... It can change the search engine default on your browser so that you're directed to fake sponsored search results, and it can also control your apps, themes and extensions.Aug 1, 2019

    How to Remove the Chromium Virus - Panda Security
    www.pandasecurity.com › mediacenter › malware › chro...

    What is difference between Chrome and Chromium?
    Chrome is, without a doubt, dominating the global browser market. It is the undisputed leader and shows no signs of stepping down from that position. Chromium, on the other hand, is a free, open-source software project created by Google. Its source code provides the basis for multiple browsers

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I may try this instead from a Win 10 box that has Edge and up-to-date Firefox. What browser we use should not make the crucial difference ? By "TD settings" I was referring more to those for browser integration and browser monitoring. (Ant DL for instance has several such settings.)

    I was talking about the settings inside Tubedigger, not the need of using a "real" chromium browser.

    With regard to my previous message concerning the DMCA takedown notice by RIAA:
    In the meanwhile, people who use TVDownloader for legal purposes (i.e. for downloading non copyrighted media for personal or educational use), can still use the latest version of TVDownloader and update it manually by replacing the youtube-dl.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\TVDownloader with the latest version from https://youtube-dl.org/downloads/latest/youtube-dl.exe

    Many thanks to @xplorr and @ChezBompaLawijt for the brilliant workarounds!

    The observation that every video is named "m3u8.mp4" now, is just a minor inconvenience.

    Thanx G4yFr0g, you were spot on with that. Managed to grab both of them. After the settings change TD downloaded some additional components. Upon inputting the links it then does not immediately start downloading something (as before, when this worked), but showed 4 files that I'll call "possibles." Then it's manually select one from a right-click menu and start the download. As a guess I went with the last file, which is probably the highest res version. It matched the file size you mentioned. One setting that I have liked in Fast Video Downloader (a 1-year license for which is given away as a promo around twice per year at either of those giveaway sites) is to automatically choose the highest res version -- which is well suited for YT videos. These two programs are currently my preferred apps for video downloads, although I have found xplorr's TVD program quite useful in many cases also. I hope he is able to resume with it in time.

    I'll be interested to see if your suggested settings changes open a number of other d/l doors I've been encountering that seemed to be closed. (btw, This did work even on the W7 box with the legacy FF browser version, which I've left that way because it supported some key extensions I rely on which were among the thousands nixed when FireFox dropped its previous extensions architecture. I also don't like several changes that have crept into latter day FireFox itself.)

    If this TD settings change undid TD's tether to IE, that will be a great side benefit.

    Hi,

    can you show me how to download the following link(the exact link for this video, I want to understand how you got there)?

    https://www.vrt.be/vrtnu/a-z/undercover/2/undercover-s2a10/

    I don't seem to get the right .dash links, I always receive remix-cf.lwc.vrtcdn.be and they don't work after I modify them.

    The way I would download this is with using the videoid of this episode as follows:

    1. Open the url in your browser. View the HTML source of that webpage. In most browsers you can do this by pressing CTRL-U, or by selecting View Source or something similar in a menu.

    2. Search for the text "videoid" (without the quotes ") in the HTML source. In the HTML source for the episode undercover s2a10 for example:
    Code:
    <nui-media posterimage="//images.vrt.be/orig/2020/10/29/fa6a02c4-19f7-11eb-aae0-02b7b76bf47f.jpg"
    mediaapiurl="https://media-services-public.vrt.be/vualto-video-aggregator-web/rest/external/v1"
    videoid="vid-85b0de9b-8b14-431c-91fb-e97edec85163"
    publicationid="pbs-pub-1291cdf7-00d4-4764-81ac-9ee37df6131c" analytics
    3. Copy the value of videoid

    4. Use the following url with youtube-dl
    Code:
    https://mediazone.vrt.be/api/v1/een/assets/videoid
    5. Example of episode undercover s2a10
    videoid = vid-85b0de9b-8b14-431c-91fb-e97edec85163
    url to use = https://mediazone.vrt.be/api/v1/een/assets/vid-85b0de9b-8b14-431c-91fb-e97edec85163

    The above mediazone url can be used to download the video with youtube-dl or any program that uses youtube-dl like TVDownloader. And there is no need to login or even have an account with VRTNU to use these url's.

    I have tested this with a few programs/episodes but cannot be certain it will work with every program or that these will keep working in the future. Especially because this mediazone url is the old way and VRT might discontinue its use any moment without notice.

    I'm sure this could be automated aswell, so that we'd only have to fill in the weblink in TVDownloader and it finds the videoid itself + downloads the file.

    Automation is certainly possible. I have done this for myself so that I can download with just providing the webpage like in the past.

    Another way to get the videoid is to use VRT's own search API:
    Code:
    https://vrtnu-api.vrt.be/search?size=1&facets[url]=url with https: stripped
    or
    Code:
    https://search.vrt.be/search?size=1&facets[url]=url with https: stripped
    This gives back JSON information about the episode including the videoid. JSON information is particularly interesting for automation. Getting the videoid this way can probably be done in 5 lines of code.

    For the example undercover s2a10:

    1. url with https: stripped = //www.vrt.be/vrtnu/a-z/undercover/2/undercover-s2a10/

    2. VRT search API = https://search.vrt.be/search?size=1&facets[u rl]=//www.vrt.be/vrtnu/a-z/undercover/2/undercover-s2a10/

    3. Returned JSON info includes the following
    Code:
    {
      <snipped>

      "results": [
        {
          <snipped>

          "title": "Oorlog",
          "transcodingStatus": "AVAILABLE",
          "url": "//www.vrt.be/vrtnu/a-z/undercover/2/undercover-s2a10/",
          "videoId": "vid-85b0de9b-8b14-431c-91fb-e97edec85163",
          "videoThumbnailUrl": "//images.vrt.be/orig/2020/10/29/fa6a02c4-19f7-11eb-aae0-02b7b76bf47f.jpg",
          "whatsonId": "843354923527",

          <snipped>
        }
      ],

    This used to be a piece of cake until a few days ago.

    Answer on first page:

    In the meanwhile, people who use TVDownloader for legal purposes (i.e. for downloading non copyrighted media for personal or educational use), can still use the latest version of TVDownloader and update it manually by replacing the youtube-dl.exe file in C:\Program Files (x86)\TVDownloader with the latest version from https://youtube-dl.org/downloads/latest/youtube-dl.exe

    Installed this on my new. Windows 10 Lenovo ThinkPad,62bit.
    Kept getting an application error 0xc00007b.
    Tried lots of things all to no avail.
    Put it on an old Dell Inspirion 32 bit, running Windows 10.
    Worked with no problems.
    Just in case anyone else has this problem.
