this application is GUI to yt-dl
why thus discredit a work done by others?
it's true this app is just parasites on youtube-dl and ffmpeg.... as are all GUIs app!
not everyone knows how to use youtube-dl from command-line, and this offers easy settings of download options.
and anyway, to conclude, your link it works with TVDownloader...

@lomero: it doesn't work for me.
"app" doesn't remember settings - you have to fill in user name and password all over and over again, it doesn't remember settings about quality and so on ... actually it doesn't remember anything. It is no surprise as it is "coded" in hta.
As I said - it is just garbage

  3. very strange. i don't have nothing setting, no username and passw. only copy and paste your link on TVdownloader and work.
try another app, or better on this simple case, use yt-dl command line. copy your link and yt-dl work.
you have latest yt-dl? update this if don't work for you.
if problem persist, try with VPN and use another country to bypass limit
    Quote Quote
  4. I didn't mean user name or password for this sake, but generally.
According to that link - it doesn't work at all (for me). Obviously I have latest ytdl version. And of course - if I put it in command line with --no-cache-dir parameter, it works fluently.
I am not saying, but author of this "app" should include this parameter in as default. Because it won't hurt anything and, as we can see, sometimes it helps.
Link in browser works, so there are no country restrictions.
No need any different app - I coded mine for myself, very powerfull with combination of mpv player. so I don't anything different. I just found this site when googled some knowledge about ytdl for my own app and it just drives me crazy how someone can release such an "app" which is actually for nothing. Because I don't dare to release mine, which if way more better than this.
    Peace

  5. Is possible to download Teachable courses with this tool?, I have tried, but is not working.

Most of the videos are hosted in Wistia.

I think the videos needs to be downloaded like a YouTube playlist. Thanks.

    youtube-dl CONFIGURATION.

You can configure youtube-dl by placing any supported command line option to a configuration file. On Linux and macOS, the system wide configuration file is located at /etc/youtube-dl.conf and the user wide configuration file at ~/.config/youtube-dl/config. On Windows, the user wide configuration file locations are %APPDATA%\youtube-dl\config.txt or C:\Users\<user name>\youtube-dl.conf. Note that by default configuration file may not exist so you may need to create it yourself.

You can register for free. That is the index page of the course, it would be amazing if I copy the index Url page and the program download all the videos of the course, something like downloading a YouTube playlist.

    Hello,

I've downloaded TVDOWNLOADER and it works great, when it comes to video with DRM, is it possible to download the crypted file and remove the protection later ? I've read multiple pages of the thread without a clear answer. If not is there another way to do so ?

    Thanks

Currently not possible as it hasn't been cracked yet.
When a customer plays the content, the player sends the license request to the content owners' proxy which communicates with an authentication process running on the customer's website. Once the customer's website validates the user's rights to the content, the proxy communicates with the DRM platform to create the license/decryption key which is then returned back down to the customer's proxy and ultimately to the user's player. So even if you are able to download the content offline, the license server will not get decryption key for it because that content type is not licensed.

    Thanks for the answer.

I guess it's also impossible to remove the DRM during the process of downloading the content ?

During the process of downloading - haven't heard of any.
After downloading possible but you need keybox which would get the decryption key from license server. And these are not publicly available.

    https://developers.google.com/android-partner/guide/keybox

The fact that every HLS/MPEG-DASH encrypted stream has different decryption key doesn't make it easier.

i only see html text documents and pdf files. :P
you're way too lazy if you just can't click and download the pdf files manually one by one.
when you click on it's link in the index,it pops up automatically to save the pdf file on your computer. :P

to download 1280x720 stream with audio (it's variable) in one mp4 file:
    youtube-dl.exe -f 22 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7pZgQepXfA

or if you want that 1080p stream mp4 like you already downloaded,
    youtube-dl.exe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7pZgQepXfA

that's the best audio you can have

else you have to download the streams seperately and combine them into one file,or just use pyIDM for ease of access.

  22. Hi everybody!
For some time now i can not download the subtitles from vrt.nu anymore with TVdownloader. At the end of the download it says "there aren't any subtitles to convert" Strange, because there are for sure subtitles on the site. For example:
    https://www.vrt.be/vrtnu/a-z/kinderen-van-de-holocaust/1/kinderen-van-de-holocaust-s1a6/
Is there someone who knows a solution?
    Thanks

  24. Hello,
Is this program good for "Live streams" capturing the m3u? Or is only for grabbing VOD?
If you can grab the m3u, what are settings you apply to grab?
    Many thanks

TVDownloader was not intended for capturing m3u streams, but you can use it to capture certain streams.
If the stream is continuous, like most are, you have to press ctrl-c to stop capturing.
Afterwards open the .part file as a video file in f.i. VLC to view.
I tested with an m3u8 stream.
Ps. further processing steps will not be performed after interrupting the capture.
Try it out and let me know if it worked for you.

Still on top of the TVDownloader screen (1.18.5): "Video Source URL (VRT, VTM, VIER, Youtube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, BBC, +900 more)"

Please remove "VTM" as it is no longer possible to download from VTM (all DRM protected)
