    The normal video playback speed is suddenly slower than normal. What may be causing this to happen?
    Anyone any suggestions?

    Iirc, the difference between PB (spacebar) and 1/2speed PB (shift+spacebae?) is shift. Probably a stuck key.
    But could be the key assignments table has been corrupted (not likely).

    Also, remember J-K-L (reverse-stop/pause-fwd) and if you tap J or K multiple times, it increases the rate.
