  1. Hey everyone! This is my first time here, so be easy on me, ok? Anyways, I have an AVI w/ the AC3 music file on my hardrive. The program I am currently using to convert my files to MPEG with is that TMPGEnc. When I go to make the MPEG file w/ this program, (after a good nights rest) I will check to see if it properly converted it. Well, it just so happens that an error occurs durring the process. Any of you wizzes out there know what the heck this means and what I should do about it?

    { Write error occurred at address 004028A9 of module TMPGENC.EXE with 008BOAE8 }

    After I try to access the "faulty" produced MPEG file, It seems okay untill about an 8th of the movie in, it starts to repeat itself with the audio. I am trying to make a VCD out of this and I am stumped of what to do. Any help with this would be very grateful. P.S.- I tried tinkering w/ the birate; making the balanced, and this appeared to have no positive affect.

  2. That sounds like a RAM memory write error. Have you tried a different clip? Did you try it again and incure the same error? Have you seen this error before? Not that some VIA chip set driver can get a bit squrelly with memory access.

    Some ideas.
    1) Try running another program then start Tmpg and compress the clip again.
    2) Try a different clip.
    3) Also what version of Tmpg are you using. If an old one try a new one and visa-versa.

    Good Luck

  3. The movie I'm trying to make a backup of is "The Matrix". I thought it was some sort of copy protection like that CSS thing. I tried an option on one of the programs that I have that enabled some sort of error protection. Oviously, it did nothing. Theres got to be a way around this...
    Once again, thanks for any help given.
