Video_Ts files are all changed

Not sure what has caused this but all my video_ts files have changed.I used to click on them and able to view movie now there are no files that I can click on but I can open vlc and drop the file in and it plays.But only have VTS_01_2.Vob and so on but ALL VOB files and a Ifo File,nothing to click on to open and watch. What has happen? All files are like this? Has to be computer related I would think since all of them changed like this.

what version windows, what if anything did you recently update

if vlc plays the file, then you still have your movies, ( i assume you are talking dvd folders of copied dvds )

and some setting has changed limiting your playback options
some DLL or key file may have been deleted, or replaced, or some change made in the 'registry'

It sounds like a recent update or installed program has changed your file associations. You should be able to re-establish the association using Default Programs in Control Panel. Alternately, you can right-click on one of the files, select "Open With..." and then "Choose another app" (or "Choose another program", depending on which version of Windows you are using).

Of course if you have Windows 10, it likes to reset any of a number of file associations all on its own, just because it feels like it. So you may end up repeating this whole process again in three months... or tomorrow. Unless you use a Registry tweak to disable that "feature".

I have windows 7,refuse to update to 10. As far as I know I havent updated anything but I did run some things to try to get rid of blank pages opening in firefox,like hitman pro and malwarebyte. I can play them if I drop them into VCL,but cant open them from the folder anymore.If I try opening it says no program to open it with and cant find one online.Very confusing. How do I do the default thing in control panel? ty Very much.

I got it I changed the movie files back to VLC thru the control panel default programs,figured it out after I got there. TY so much this was really getting to me,
