  1. I have an AMR sound recording in a Windows file that plays on VLC media player without problem. What is the easiest way to just extract from this audio file specific sections that I want to send to a translator?

I did try to Convert the file in VLC Media player to MP3 or MP4, but VLC creates gigantic files. Obviously all of the compression is being lost.

  3. Audacity can open and edit AMR files
install FFmpeg for Audacity to open AMR sound files in Audacity
install Lame MP3 codec to export to MP3 from Audacity
