This is one of the gross examples of the craziest things I do.
(Laugh all you like, I am for total freedom of expression)
Some of my videos play with correct dimensions on computer but stretch beyond the TV screen.
Going by all the knowledge gained in this forum, I think it has to do with Anamorphic setting to 'none' while re-coding.
Is it possible to restore these videos without loss in quality?
Thanks.

I suggest you do the following.
1. Post a mediainfo (text mode) report of one of these videos
2. Advise of the player(s) you use for the computer and any aspect ratio settings
3. Advise of the player(s) you use for the tv and any aspect ratio settings
4. Advise of the dimensions of your tv ie 4:3 or 16:9 and any display settings. Make model will also be useful. -
Thanks for reply.

Turn off the overscan setting on the TV. -
Look also at tv display settings. My Sony has 'Auto', 'Wide', 'Smart' and 'Zoom'.
'Smart' is not very clever and zooms the displayed image. -
