I have 3 mkv files that won't play on my Xbox One S.
After using mediainfo I see they have DTS audio. Probably why they wont play.

What media converter can I use to change the DTS to AC3 audio and retain everything else the same?

I'll give Popcorn a try even though Panda flagged it as virus and deleted it. Will just shut Panda during installation I suppose.
Seems odd to me that it gets flagged as a virus if in fact this prog has been around for years.

I specified the Source File but the Run button is greyed out.

In the upper section of the same pane it has Common Directory, Individual Locations, Media Info highlighted in red and keeps flashing Media Info missing file specification.

You may have to install a couple of 3rd party programs read the docs or go to http://www.networkedmediatank.com/showthread.php?tid=20887&highlight=audio+converter and post a help me request.

Not going to use Popcorn. External Audio Tools zip file is screwed up. Not easy to use for a simple thing.

Once it's setup it does work very smoothly and with regular updates etc. Maybe then use Pazera Free Audio Extractor

Ended using FormatFactory. Was relatively easy to use for a noob like me.
Has option to "copy" video without re-encoding so it goes super fast. Outputted audio as AAC.
Only having an issue with missing subtitles in one so far.

Thanks for your help and will take a glance at Pazera.

  9. You can try do it a proper way then with dedicated tools, just using two softwares instead of just one.
Load mkv into eac3to GUI, export AC3 alone.
Then load your original MKV AND then your new AC3 audio into mkvmerge. Check out DTS and remux MKV again.

  11. .............have not read the entire thread so don't know if they have been suggested but iWisoft video converter [URL="http://www.iwisoft.com/videoconverter/"] and Freemake Video converter [URL="https://freemake-video-converter.en.softonic.com/"] I find simple to use and the latter really does compress the file so as to maximize the number of files burnt to a DVD. Cheers DD
