  1. I installed AviSynth 2.6, and downloaded FFMS2 version 2.22. I copied ffms2.dll, FFMS2.avsi and ffms2.lib files to the AviSynth plugin directory. When I try to use it and opening a video file, I always get an avisynth error message: "There is no function named FFVideoSource". When I try to import the plugin explicitely, I get an error message "ffms2.dll isn't an AvisSynth 2 plugin".

If I use version 2.17 of FFMS2, and I do the same abovementioned scenario, it works properly, video opens. Has something changed in the usage between the two versions? Releases above 2.22 contains the "clang" abbreviation in their names, does it mean something special?

  2. Clang is the name of the tool used to compile the source code, nothing to worry about. Try 2.23 and report back.

If it doesn't work run "avsmeter -avsinfo" and see if it lists any missing dependencies. Are you on Windows XP?

Use ffms2.dll from the x86 folder

  4. No, I forgot to mention that I am on Arch Linux, I don't have Windows installed at all for years, but either AviSynth or FFMS2 worked well with wine. I just had to copy avisynth.dll and devil.dll to the actual folder, as I have a headless VPS with no graphical interface to install AviSynth properly.

I would like to try out this new FFMS2 version because I read somewhere it can read media files from direct http links too, without downloading.
