Probably a simple issue for many of you, but it's a new one on me.

I have a 23.97 fps "video1_480p_x264-ac3.mkv" file at 640x480 (as noted in VLC Codec Details) -- and I'm trying to upload it to YouTube.
After the upload completes, YouTube playback only allows a max rez. of 360p.
How do I tweak the file (or YT settings) so that YT displays at 480p?

(I have the Handbrake tool at my disposal, so please use that for tweaking advice).

    Thx!

  2. The HandBrake GUI does not allow upscaling, only the CLI. The HandBrake based VidCoder (GUI) allows upscaling. Go into encoder settings, "Picture" tab, set "Keep aspect ratio" and "Anamorphic" to "none". Then set "Height" to e.g. "720" or "1080" and encode. In "Video" tab set "Constant quality" to a low value, e.g. "16". The lower the value the bigger the file the better the quality.

But: are you sure playback is 360p only? You may have to give Youtube some time to convert to all resolutions. Or 480p is available only for AVC but your browser only supports VP8/VP9.

That was it. I checked it again a full 12hrs after the initial up. Yes, I did know bout that prop delay from prev. ups. This time, YT took several hours to process.
