I usually meet Arial as font and white letters whith some black shadow / outline. When I tried to render / burn subtitles I preferred yellow letters with black outlines. A bit uglier than white letters, but easier to read even on lighter scenes. What are your opinions? What about a semibold font? Maybe better to read. Or condensed ones? Would yield fewer line breaks.
I would like to use unicode font, because my subtitles contains special characters too (öüóőúűáéíÖÜÓÚŐÉÁŰÍ) and I am using Arch Linux, so I would prefer fonts which are available on this platform.
I am burning subtitles, because then I upload these videos to a video sharing website which doesn't support soft subtitles.
