Some time ago, I started this thread: https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/373770-Sony-Vegas-glitching-videos-while-editing
I've learnt to convert videos to lossless or i-frame intermediates (by using XMediaRecode to convert them to mjpeg .mov files) in order to make them stop to mess their frames, since they changed places every time I did something. By converting them to i-frame intermediates, frames still changed places, but I could easily remove them or change their places in order to make a good resulting video.
However, through the time, I've realized I hadn't solved the whole problem. Frames are still getting messed up, and that's very frustrating, especially for long editings with few files, even if I can remove the wrong frames. Why can I definitely stop that problem?
I use Sony Vegas Pro 12 (Build 770) 64-bit.
Those are the raw videos I am actually trying to edit:

Are your project properties set to 29.97 frame rate?

Have you tried editing the MOV files natively? The container isn't as bad as AVI for long GOP formats.
Many people edit Canon DSLR footage natively in vegas without issues. I'm beginning to suspect something is wrong with either your software install or your hardware setup. Also try disabling GPU acceleration , it can cause problems for some people in vegas -
Yes, I did try it. You may be right. There's something obscure about my laptop, not just because of that problem. There is a lot of other problems I got when I am handling videos.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... disabling GPU acceleration solved all my problems with my editing! There isn't a single frame out of place now, and I didn't need to re-edit my project or to make any conversions! And I had converted those files to various other formats, without solving the issue.
You must be some kind of editing god, since it's not the first time you pinpoint the solution for a problem with my editings. Thank you so much!Last edited by Clever Sleazoid; 26th Nov 2016 at 23:39.

The GPU issue is fairly common issue with vegas. Vegas's GPU implementation is very buggy
But the long GOP in AVI issue(s) are also very common in all programs (not just vegas) . Personally, I would convert AVI videos to I-frame before editing as suggested in your other thread. Way too many headaches otherwise. But the MOV or MP4 container is fine with AVC. Very rarely any problems related to mixed up frames and such. Since you still had problems after converting to I-frame with those videos in the other thread, it must have been the GPU issue on your setup as well
