  1. Hey, all...An advanced newbie question.

Got a problem. I'm using TMPGEnc to try and encode an SVCD from a DivX. When I run the conversion (which takes nearly six hours for 45 minutes of video) everything appears to work fine. However, when I play the resulting MPEG 2 file back in WMP, I get no video OR sound. The progress bar shows that it's playing fine, but I get nothing. If I open the same file in the file player that came along with my ATI-AIW, I get video and audio just fine. However, when I burn it into an SVCD to play on my standalone player, it doesn't work. Again, I get no video or sound.

I have PIII, 1GhZ, 512 Meg Ram, 160 GB, TMPEG Plus 2.53, DivX Codecs 4.11 and 5 installed.

    Thanks for any help!

  2. Brand and model of your player?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. It's a Panasonic...I don't know the model number right off the top of my head. It reads VCDs (both compliant and non-compliant). It's not specifically SVCD compatible, however, I have always been able to get it to play SVCDs (that were created from normal AVIs, rather than DivX AVIs) by re-muxing the file it with a Video CD MPEG1 Header.

Try loading the AVI into Vudub, select video streaming, and audio streaming and saveas save out another movie2.avi, then use that for your conversion in TMPGENC
