Brand new to blue ray writing. Using above burner with Memorex 6x BD-R disks and Cyberlink Power Producer software included with LG burner, and pac on Win 10. Videos are .mp4. Disks and burner are recognized, but burn process stalls at 14% "creating and organizing folders". Anyone have experience with the Lg burner and or software. Would appreciate any input.
    Thanks

Try ImgBurn for burning the mp4. ImgBurn seems to work well for most people. I use it for BD-R and DVD.

However, Memorex media has a poor reputation for quality so it could be the problem. Verbatim BD-R burns very well, but avoid their "LTH" media. Verbatim BD-R LTH is a little cheaper, but often becomes unreadable within a few months to a few years.

There's a possibility that USB 2.0 is the problem. USB 2.0 Blu-ray drives don't work well with every computer, especially if they are USB powered.

Thanks, but I'm trying to create a blueray dvd video disk. The ImgBurn prog i downloaded only show creating data disk. Nothing about a blue ray disk. Or should I be building an image file, then using IMGburn? I hav 1080 p mp4 files i want to create so others can view on their blueray dvd players.

I questioned that as well, but the box states win ten compatible. Or so it says.

My mistake. I thought you were burning mp4 files to Blu-ray as data. (Many (but not all) Blu-ray players can play media files from Blu-ray discs.)

Author the Blu-ray, but use PowerProducer create files and folders or an ISO disc image as its output, instead of directly burning to disc with PowerProducer. Afterwards, you can burn the files and folders or burn the image using ImgBurn. As sneaker's link illustrates, ImgBurn knows how to burn a Blu-ray video disc from files and folders.

[Edit]I checked what happens in PowerDirector. (I don't have PowerProducer.) If you select "Create a Folder" instead of "Burn to Disc" for Final Output, you will get files and folders.

I assume I have to create a BDAV / BDMV folder and the CERTIFICATE folder? Cant get past choosing the files for the folder creation. Once chosen, cant find next step. Even after using the directions.

So how do you create a BDAV/BDMV Folder. Again the Disk Layout Menu has no obvious next step showing after choosing file/folders. Disk Layout Menu is not shown in the link recipe posted here.
    Thanks again.

You need to uncheck "burn to disk" and check one of the other two options (whichever you want) to burn with another program, such as ImgBurn.

When PowerProducer is finished creating the Blu-ray files and folders or the disc image, open ImgBurn itself. Follow the guide sneaker posted for burning files and folders. Burning a disc image requires selecting "Write Image File to Disc" on the first screen in the guide, and opening the image file in the next screen.

Thanks again. I tried creating an image file as you directed, but the Power Producer froze again, just as it did for disk burning. Apparently its not compatible in my setup. I tried Freemake and it seemed to be working accessing the burner and burning, but the two attempts failed to produce a working disk. So now it looks like I need a rpgram to produce a disk image or file. Sigh

Which version or PowerProducer is this?

When software is included with a burner, it is often a few versions behind the newest one. Compatibility mode could help, but there may also be updates or patches for PowerDirector (supplied by Cyberlink) that you need to install.

Did that aaaaaaand, it seems to have worked. Burned a quick short movie that played back fine on my tv and blueray player. Now trying a longer burn.
Thanks to all. Saved me driving miles to return the burner.

FYI, I'm burning aerial footage shot with my drone at 1080 p. Found that standard dvd reduced quality of videos significantly. This appears close to original footage.

For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".

If only more people would read the entire thread before posting...

In this case the problem the thread's originator reported turned out to lie with his authoring software. Said software was unable to complete the authoring process because it wasn't fully compatible with Windows 10. Running the software in compatibility mode corrected the problem.

Now that the authoring problem has been resolved, he has been able to successfully burn the completed movie to BD-R. The burner itself appears to be working well for him so far. With a little luck, that situation will continue. Unless a problem arises in the very near future, I doubt that he will be returning his new drive.

Followed the initial successful short burn with a 20 gig burn. Took a bit over 3 hours at 6x speed. Works great! Appreciate all the help and advice. Vids look great.

3 hours to author the videos and burn them to a BD-R is reasonable. If it takes 3 hours just to burn 20GB worth of data, that reflects a speed well under 6x.
