  1. I dont understand.... Fair enough if you dont know the aspect ratio of an AVI then TMPGEnc changes it for you. But I do know that it IS 16:9 but it still changes it back to 4:3 !!!

I have saved and resaved the damn template so many times Ive lost count. Despite this the Source aspect ratio (Advanced) changes back to 4:3 and Video Aspect changes back to 4:3 Display. If I then change the settings back to 16:9 the encode is then in the correct aspect ratio. Big deal but this means I have to manually make this change for 12 files !!

In case I am encountering a quirck in my capturing I tried a ripped bit of DVD which REALLY IS 16:9 !!! Still same result from TMPGenc.

This has a further ramification, if a batch list is made up the first being set to enclode 16:9 source and display, the first one IS encoded 16:9 but the following ones MAGICALLY change to 4:3 (I found this out by demultiplexing and viewing the video stream in Bitrate viewer). A subsequent import into SpruceUp of this file results in an error.

    ?????

YOu may need to go into settings, then the advanced tab. From there, look at the Video Arrange Method setting. In the past I have had to set it to either Center (Keep Aspect Ratio) or Full Screen (Keep Aspect Ratio) depending on whether I was making a SVCD or VCD.

    Hope this helps!

You may need to change it AFTER loading the video file then try encoding.

  5. Well, yeah, thats the point ! How am I supposed to batch these together ???

If I then change the settings back to 16:9 the encode is then in the correct aspect ratio. Big deal but this means I have to manually make this change for 12 files !!

TMPGENC should retain the settings you last used. you can also hit the save button to save your settings.

So if you load TMPGENc set it as you want, then do a batch convert ?

The settings are saving ? no read only on any ini files ?

I just done a quick test..

1 load AVI change settings to what I want, quit program
    2 renamed CurrentCfg.tpr to movie1.tpr
3, load next avi changed settings for test, quit program
4, run batch conver, load both tpr's into list

Never used this batch convert, must be a easier way
