  1. Does anybody know how to convert AC3 to Multichannel MPEg audio for SVCD as SVCD does support this kind of 5.1 digital surround upto 384 Kbps.

  2. It is possible but it will waste space on your Cd, and it will play only under certain DVD player.
    And you need to precess and encode the files under linux.

  4. You are probably wasting your time and effort. The vcd standard supports only 224kbps Stereo audio. Anything outside of that is not covered under the standard. And isnt supported under most standalone players. Plus if your goal is to have 5.1 sound you need a 5.1 decoder and speakers. Anything less and you dont get the full experience, and then whats the point

    Most stand alones wont play the disc and the ones that will(which will be hard to find) may be more expensive. And since the track takes up more space you will find yourself switching disc alot.

    It's possible to convert ac3 to mpeg2 multichannel in windows with the use of rempeg or pub_enc.exe e besweet.
    take a look to dspguru.doom9.net and search for svcd 5.1
