Does anybody know how to convert AC3 to Multichannel MPEg audio for SVCD as SVCD does support this kind of 5.1 digital surround upto 384 Kbps.
Thanks

It is possible but it will waste space on your Cd, and it will play only under certain DVD player.
And you need to precess and encode the files under linux.
Try the www.doom9.com guide.

You are probably wasting your time and effort. The vcd standard supports only 224kbps Stereo audio. Anything outside of that is not covered under the standard. And isnt supported under most standalone players. Plus if your goal is to have 5.1 sound you need a 5.1 decoder and speakers. Anything less and you dont get the full experience, and then whats the point
Most stand alones wont play the disc and the ones that will(which will be hard to find) may be more expensive. And since the track takes up more space you will find yourself switching disc alot. -
search for my old post !
