I'm creating a new thread cause I got a new problem.

I'm trying to convert an .mkv file into .mp4 and while the output video plays perfectly, there's no audio.

Here is the original video's info: https://forum.videohelp.com/images/imgfiles/98H2voy.png

Here is a video showing exactly what I did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NXVARkaH_7I

As you can see, the original .mkv file plays audio, but the output .mp4 doesn't. How can I fix it so I can have audio on the .mp4 as well?

  2. Not possible to mux PCM wav into MP4 container using open source muxers. You would have to convert to audio to a compatible format such as AAC

    mkvtoolnix cannot convert, only mux

I thought mkvtomp4 had option to convert the audio ? If not you could use something like avidemux or ffmpeg (or some gui for ffmpeg like xmediarecode, ffqueue)

I've just tried avidemux and it works. But I'd still like to know how to convert the audio with mkvtomp4. I don't see an option for that there, but I may be missing something.

    I've actually never used it.

In the screenshots , audio tab, do you have AAC checkmarked for "enable" ?

Or maybe you have to select a preset ?

    Yes, I have it enabled.

So... I uploaded two videos to a forum - they're exactly the same video, just encoded differently. One of them worked, the other didn't. Here's the info about them:

The left one worked, the right one failed. Can anyone tell me what made the right one fail to play?
