  1. this may be a silly question, but what exactly is the difference between a non-standard vcd and a xvcd?

    An xVCD *IS* a non-standard VCD.

    Basically with a xVCD you can change the bitrate and the size to go off standards in hopes of getting better quality, but you sacrifice compatibility.
