  1. Dear All,

I have been trying to unlock the device above using the solutions posted on this site (through a URC 3740 remote). However, one thing seems to block any attempt, which is the code to control that player. None of them (like 0533) seems to be able to even turn off the device, let alone send it unlock codes.

Does anyone know for sure which code has successfully allowed basic control of the BDP 6500? Otherwise, is there any unlock hack that has really worked for you with the 6500 or similar?

    Tks a lot!

Sony and some other newer players are near impossible to unlock. But someone here may have a better answer.

    And welcome to our forums.

Tks a lot for the kind words - hopefully someone will come with some sort of solution for this model...although at this point in time I am simply asking for the OFA code to operate the BD unit from an all4one remote; as for the hack itself I am not counting on an easy fix

Anyone find a hack/unlock code for this player? I bought mine in the U.S. and none of the solutions I've read here so far are working.

But I think the problem may be the remote -- I don't really have a one-for-all remote and the remotes I do have that control the BDP-S6500 either don't have a number pad or a return button.

Not sure but do you not need an official remote for a player to 'teach' an one-for-all to work ?

And I agree with earlier comments. Sony machines are the hardest if not impossible to hack by codes alone. There are Region/Zone free Sony models out there but all have been internally modified so you can then forget any manuf warranty.

    I think you're right, I'd need a one-for-all to do this.

If anyone finds a hack, please post here.
