  1. In phones, the Exynos 5422 can encode 4k30 streams in realtime. Is there anyway to leverage that technology to get the same performance in the desktop version (same chip in desktop environment):

    or is there the possibility of someone writing software that would in the future? It is an arm chip/pc

  2. ok should have looked more carefully on internet. They were able to do it using a customized ffmpeg build they made. These chips use MFC h264 hardware encoding. Very cool!

    very interesting now is that qualcomm makes raspberry pi like computers with snapdragon chips in them. I would imagine in a couple years they will make one with a snapdragon 820. Hopefully someone will be able to leverage the hardware encoder on those too. I would imagine they can do 4k 60 fps real time
