  1. hi
I wanted some help with using tmpgenc to make vcds. Everytime i try to convert a file say avi to mpg using tmpgenc, the aspect ratio doesnt stay the same as the original. I was wondering if someone can help me out.
The top and bottom borders work fine but my left and right borders always turn out smaller when i try to encode a full screen mpg

  2. A few questions:

    - are you selecting "Preserve aspect ratio" under "Configure",
    "Advanced" tab?

    - do the left & right borders look ok if you play the mpg on your pc? or
are they only cut off if you view the vcd on a TV?

    - what size is your source avi & what size is the resulting mpg?

  4. Get a full version of TMpgEnc at http://www.tmpgenc.net

You will find "Preserve Aspect Ratio" under
    "Configure", "Advanced", "Image Positioning Method"

I suggest loading a VideoCD template as all the correct settings will then be selected for you.

    Hope this helps.

  5. you do have the configure button sidhu82, just your version it's called "Setting". then goto advanced, "Image Positioning Method" is called "video arrange method" on yours. And preserve aspect ration is called "keep aspect ratio"
