I understand that google is full of posts on how to enable MKV format based movies on Samsung Smart TV. However, my situation is little different. For me, the mkv movies had been playing fine for last few years from my NAS drive until recently. Even the icon of movies on the TV screen via AllShare or NAS Source look different now. I know that there has been no update to my NAS drive for last 8 months as their support has ended. So I suspect some software update to Samsung TV has caused this issue. The movies from other format mp4, avi, etc are working fine. The mkv movies streaming from laptop using Plex or Vuze works fine too. Just the streaming from NAS has stopped.

    Model Code: UN46D6000
    Software Version: T-GASAKUC-1023.2

NAS Drive: IOMEGA Home Media Drive, Cloud Edition

Error from TV: Unsupported format of video.

    Please help!

  4. Resolution looks weird
    1280x546 <- 546 instead of 544
    1920x802 <- 802 instead of 800
