How do you create a menu using Nero

As a newbie I'm not sure if this belongs here, so flames away if you want but as long as I get a answer I'm alright with it. I tried using Nero to create a menu for a new VCD. When I burned it and loaded it in all I get is the background picture and the text that I created a long with the name of the movie that I have in their. I can't play the damn movie, I've pressed every button on my DVD remote that looked like it would get it to play and it won't play. Right now all I can do is stare at the screen like a mindless zombie. How do I enable my movie to play using a menu anyways.

Does your remote have numbered keys like a tv remote?
If it does use the # by the mpeg file name. If you just have one trak push
the #1 key.

Same thing happened with me. You left the menu on infinite you can set it up for the number of seconds you want the menu to stay on. Yes this is in the wrong forum. I am a newbie and I know that. What does this have anything to do with conversion?
