Ok, I can probably use audacity for that. Does audacity have a feature that let's you cross fade two audio clips while at the same time choosing exactly how long the resulting file is going to be so that you can put in the same length as the video you made and they will just naturally sync up?

I just dubbed a file with another layer of video over it with fflayer and when I opened the file I created, it only had the original video and the layer was nowhere to be found, what gives. It took 45 minutes for that file to write and I could see the layer I added in the output pane as it was dubbing, but when I opened the file I created the layer wasn't there.
Edit: Nevermind, turns out I was just opening the wrong file
