  2. Does Microsoft Project create backup files? If not, then in the future when editing a project file try to save it under a different name each time you edit. That way you may have a good project file to use if one gets corrupted.

There are some recovery hints doing a Google search on that file type. You could try that if no one here knows how to recover a corrupted mpp file.

  4. The best option for you is to recover it from backup if you have one, even if this means losing some edit.Other than that, you could try opening it on another PC (works sometimes) or you could try creating a new project and inserting the corrupt one into it. There's also a tool MPP Viewer Tool which is meant to repair damaged Project files.

    Good luck,

  6. The next time you save an important file that you have a lot of time invested in, and you save only ONE copy of that file, and have no backup, rename it as D N D T A.

    Do
    Not
    Do
    This
    Again.
