I need to purchase more DVD - R discs for my DVD recorders. I normally use Verbatim 100 pack DVD - R discs but found a good deal on a 100 pack of Memorex DVD -R 4.7 GB 120 minutes discs. Are these worth buying or should I pay the extra money for the Verbatim discs I normally use? I look forward to the responses. Thanks for the help!

You might look here about some Memorex brands: https://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia?dvdmediasearch=memorex&dvdmediadvdridsearch=&type=1&...+or+List+Media

You really need the media code from the discs to find out if the particular version that you want to buy is well rated.

But I would stick with Verbatim.

If you have been buying Verbatim DataLife Plus DVD media or Verbatim AZO DVD media, both are more reliable than Memorex DVD media and worth the extra money. Even when Verbatim outsources production for these two product lines, the maker uses Verbatim's patented AZO dye and must meet their standards for quality.

If you have been buying the Verbatim Life Series DVD media, the only difference between it and Memorex DVD media is probably the name printed on it. Verbatim Life Series and Memorex media are both sourced from whoever offers the lowest price, and Verbatim Life Series DVD media doesn't use Verbatim's patented AZO dye.

Thank you. I figured there was a reason that the Memorex discs were half the price of the Verbatim discs. I think I will stick with what I know works well and spend the extra money for the Verbatim discs. I appreciate your input.
