Hi. Sorry if I'm posting in wrong section, I'm newbie.
I need a piece of software to edit my short videos, say GIFs (in h.264 audio_off=1 format) while applying watermark, and optionally some other filters like noise reduction or saturation.
What I expect from desired tool is:I also prefer free software over paid ones, as I believe donating free pieces of software is more productive than paying for premium ones, but premium options are also welcome.
- Supporting custom resolution. My GIFs do not obey SD or HD rules
- Full support of x264 (whatever framework)
- Applying watermark. Whether some text or preferably image watermark
- Full control over encoding parameters. That is really important
- Optionally ability to mute audio channels, but this can be done by FFMPEG so it's not a great problem
I don't need advanced features like timeline editing or filters such as I mentioned (noise reduction or saturation), but they are greatly appreciated hence prioritized.
I use shotcut right now, It's good and gives good control over encoding settings, but not full control. It uses mlt framework which has some little issues but is really powerful, and it also provides timeline editing and primitive video/audio filters.
Thanks for helping
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

It seems your list fits in VirtualDub FilterMod https://sourceforge.net/projects/vdfiltermod
1. no restriction
2. not sure. tell me (no framework, linked directly)
3. use filter (logo or fflayer)
4. maybe not that full, dont know all parameters. Have you seen x264vfw gui?
and you may find some filters -
For Linux, I would recommend KDEnlive over ShotCut. It also uses MLT and will let you create custom encoding via ffmpeg commands.
For Windows, I recommend Aviutl or use Virtualdub with External Encoder feature.Got my retirement plans all set. Looks like I only have to work another 5 years after I die........ -
Hi guys thanks for responses. In this while I was keep searching for good pieces of software. Till now, I got 3 good ones.
1- VirtualDub
Without any shadow of doubt this old but gold tool rocks. I have no arguments about it. But it seems development has been abandoned. So it's not about feature development, but also libraries which are involved in software. I don't know how to at least keep libraries up to date.
2- Avidemux
This is a really nice job of some folks. Not so many features and can't be compared with vdub, but still rocks. I stick with it, but really bother lack of some vital features (filters).
3- Aviutl
This software is really awesome. It is some kind of all in one NLE tool which is really satisfactory. But it can't copy audio streams without transcoding, and also doesn't support custom fps resampling.
Unfortunately KDEnlive doesn't have windows distributions (So sad)
Any other advices? Thanks both of you Thanks anyone in advance. -
You're wrong about #3.

Can you explain with details why? fps only can be sampled to specific values. Also audio source copying is not present (always transcodes)
