DVDFab Passkey Lite 9.0.0.1 / Newer Versions - Expired free giveaway keys?

Hello, dear all.


I have the old version from this program. 8.x.x.x. And use that giveaway keys too.

But now, version 9.0.0.1 or newer 9.x.x.x versions probably will need new keys also?


Do you have to "downgrade" to older version the keep the program working without 30 days trial mode or something?


Do you know if Fengtao will give any more giveway licenses someday again?

You can downgrade, just uninstall version 9, install version 8 and use the give away key.
Don't upgrade again, and in settings turn of automatic check for updates..

Version 8 continue to work for life with the give away key but no new encryption keys are provided as of release of version 9

just another question:

i'm not interested in backing up blurays, just playing them.
So, from what i understand the lite version is enough for that?

Hi, It is enough if you just play the old blurays with passkey 8. If you want to play disc with new protection, Passkey 9 is needed.

I see.
So, I understand that if I update every time with the latest version of Passkey lite, I won't have a problem with newer blurays too.
Right now I have 9.1.

No, it doesn't help I'm afraid..

Ok, I think it works now.
I needed to activate (register in the DVDfab site and put email/password when you hit activation).
You needn't have purchased any product.

Strange, because it didn't require it up until now..

edit: the disappointing fact is that they don't update protections with the lite version.
Just tried a Bluray released in November of 2016 and it can't play it.
I thought that the lite version can only play Blurays (any bluray updated regularly) but it just can't back up them.

No, that's not how it works. You have to have effective, up to date decryption whether you are copying or playing the movie in an unauthorized program.

Yes, i saw that.

it says:
For Blu-ray, it can remove AACS lower than V36, RC, BD-Live, and UOPs. It also gives you the power to change the region settings of Blu-ray players Power DVD and TotalMedia Theatre.

well, it doesn't work even for that: changing region settings.
And about those protections:
Where can I see, what protection does a disc have?
