  1. Hi there,

I have some excellent quality divx movies that I have downloaded. I am trying to convert them to either mpeg1 or mpeg2 to make either 2 VCS's or 1 DVD using tmpeng. Now the problem is when I come to play the converted file back, it can be a little "jerky" and slower than it should be, I have followed the tutorials on this site but still I get this problem. I have also tried converting at "Highest Quality" but still I get the problem. Help !!

    Thanks,

    Angel.

  2. Look at the frame rate of the divx movie - If it's not 25 (PAL) or 30 (NTSC), creating a VCD will look jerky because of the attempt to convert frame rate.

  3. are you trying to play the mpeg1 or mpeg2 files you encoded on your computer? because it won't look better on the computer, unless you encoded it to xvcd or something. But if it looks ugly on ur dvd player then maybe you encoded it wrong but i doubt it, try using a differnet encoder like the panasonic mpeg1 encoder
