  3. The better one is the one that looks better. Statistics don't necessarily mean much.

  4. @DBB3

why banned ? those are videos that a friend of mine encoded. and there is nothing that say otherwise .

    read the warez rules.

  5. @jagabo.

so any idea about the sound ?

  6. +1 jagabo. This post is pointless without actually being able to see a sample of each. Those statistics are uselss and provide zero useful information about how it looks.

Which one do YOU think is better?

the Web-DL one as a video,,, but as a sound i don't know.
my friend just send me the photos .

  8. so you can't judge which one is better even if both videos are encoded from the same source !

i wasn't aware that this can be that much complicated

    LOL

You mean the rules referred to in this topic

    https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/380304-BlueRay-vs-Web-DL-x264-AC-3-vs-DTS

Methinks reposting, even in part, of a closed topic is a rule violation or atleast two fingers at a mod.

And sharing copyright material from 'Your Friend' is also a violation.

    Have a nice day !

  10. Wow, I had no idea that this was a complete repeat of a thread that was already flagged and then closed. If I'd known, I wouldn't have posted.

what are you angry from ?? the forum moderator told me to check the rules that say don't talk about warez, which i did .

this post doesn't contain anything about warez. just videos specification & it's not related to my other post (it's a different video ).

and this is not violating the Rules.

and thats why @DB83 gave a link from another article , because there is nothing wrong here .

when you help people asking about " a video " you help them understand videos & encoding.

so there is a different between : a video vs that specific video.

i am not using your information to make porn video or illegal videos , i am using the information to understand and learn about them.

  13. Must you people always create controversy where none exists? The answer to the OP is that one video is not mod8 and one has DTS instead of AC-3. The one that's higher quality is the one that looks better. You can do that on your own.

This is one of the flags that raised controversy 2 : web-DL that bit of information screams probably download and probably torrents -- ie illegal and the forum rules are quite clear.
So whatever the technical attributes of examples posted under these circumstance is irrelevant - ie don't do it.

I read the locked thread before it was edited (the links were to clearly illegal downloads) and the OP can't compare the two videos because he/she doesn't have them, because "i am going to download a movie . but since it's 3 hours movie so i have to be very picky".

  16. It's called previewing. I remember better days before a moron called Cohen popularized the necessity to download the whole goddamn thing before you can view it.

  17. @Habanero there are stream players .

and i choosed the second video because it photos looks better, but i feel that the sound will not be that good as the other one .

Rip means copy, the rest is self-explanatory if you know that one word.

Web-DL means nothing of the sort; I thought he was talking about legally purchased web downloads, for instance you can buy tv episodes from google's youtube starting at $1.99 or legally purchased and downloaded adult content from any number of sites, plenty of 100% legal content that you can buy and download online.

  22. But how many legitimate media providers label their videos as Web-DL, which is the label of choice for illegally shared copies of web sourced content.

Check out the OP's other thread, locked by the mod's, and you can see he is definitely talking about illegal downloads. He was asking for advice about the best version to download to avoid wasting bandwidth.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked!

That's why I included the qualifier probably of course there are exceptions but within the context of what the OP said highly probable

100%, the OP is referring to illegal downloads as he/she foolishly posted two links to torrents (one listed as xxx - BluRay, the other xxx-WebDL) in the locked thread. If everyone stops posting here and ignores all of the other OP's threads, hopefully he/she will give up and go away.

2 videos that friend of mine made
It's simple ask Him which one is the best. (and yes I saw the original post before the links were removed)
This film is presented in it's original 2.35:1 aspect ratio. The black bars at top and bottom are normal. (it's you that isn't normal)

Not before he's been soundly thrashed

Seriously, I couldn't care less about him saving bandwidth. I was commenting on his dodgy downloading.

    More than that.

By posting the links he expected atleast one member to download both.

And his reply to me about the attributes attached to the vids in this topic being a different video is so deceitful that a thrashing is far too good for him.

The only thing that keeps this topic alive is that there is no direct reference to warez. Except that it is still a legacy topic.
