I use VirtualDub to convert my videos and lately it wasn't working very well for me, so I decided to uninstall all the plugins I was using on it and download everything again, even the VirtualDub.exe

So I did this, but I can't install Vobsub 2.23 anymore, it just crashes in the middle of the installation. I tried using Avery Lee's subtitler, but my subtitles never appear when I select them, so I'm giving up on this.

Can anyone help me with Vobsub? Maybe there's something I can do to make the installation finish?

    Thanks!

Atualization: So I searched really hard and found VSFilter, it made my VDub really slow but it worked.

Now my problem is with the DivX codecs, I think... Everytime I put them on and try to save my project the message "statsfile not found" appears, and it is the same problem I was having before uninstalling everything. Do someone knows what is it?

    Yep, install vsfilter.

You could use the xvid codec instead of the divx codec.

A stats file is created in a first pass. Are you trying to do a second pass before having completed the first pass? This is not automatic.

For a 2-pass encode you have to run the first pass before you can run the second pass. The first pass creates the stats file. The second pass uses it to allocate bitrate.
