I have to rerun an MPEG2 file through TMPGenc in order to change the dimensions of my slide show project so that when it is shown on a TV it doesn't get cut off by the overscan area. (When I used this technique with an AVI file it worked great.) My problem is that in one case I no longer have the original AVI file (deleted to make room on my hard drive) and am forced to reencode the MPEG2 file. When I reencode this file to change the dimensions it results in even further compression that really degrades the appearance of the project. Is there a way to reencode an MPEG2 file though TMPGenc to only impact the dimensions of the new MPEG2 file and not also further compress the file?
