I don't want the player to close or the PC to shut down when the files are done playing. I just want it to do nothing. Is there a way to make that happen. Can I change a setting or the "Action" to not Shut Down, Sleep or Hibernate?

There is a Potplayer setting for that. If you still have the problem, maybe the OS is doing the shutdown.
Or others here with more experience with PP may be able to give you a better answer.

  3. @ redwudz: I don't think it is a direct setting, that could cause above-mentioned actions. It can do it indirectly, if some other setting is on (of course as you said "maybe the OS is doing the shutdown" might be involved).

@ DreJayAre: so the action changes? Sometimes PP closes and sometimes PC shuts down? Maybe you sometimes use Ctrl+Alt+A, when PP window is active? Right-click on PP window, from the menu click Misc, then find 'When Finished'. Untick 'Apply finished action "Always" rather than "Once". If there's a dot marking any of the first 4 options (2 Exits and 2 Performs), close and open PP, the dot should disappear. Don't worry about dot marking any of 3 'Actions' - they shouldn't kick in, if the first 4 aren't marked.

  4. @AllisOne Thanks for your info re: "When Finished" settings. I must have accidentally hit Ctrl+Alt+A at some point and changed the setting to always do a shutdown. I didn't know why my PC seemed to be randomly shutting down; I thought I had malware. Your post helped me figure it out.
