Sup.
Deezer is audio streaming service and I got an account on it. With a sniffer, I retrieved a link to audio file which gets sent to browser cache upon audio playback and downloaded it.
The file has no extension and mediainfo IDd it simply as MPEG-PS. If set to .mp3, audio players will play it with some insane stuttering and it won't decode with neither of the tools that I have.
TSMuser returns this error upon receiving the file: "Can't parse Program Stream Map. Too large size 32368. Max allowed size 1018 bytes."
This is the case for every file you get extracted from Deezer. I'm thinking they use some format or container that your general tools identify, so I need help identifying it and successfully decoding/extracting it. Here's the file:

P.S. This is probably illegal, which should make it an ever cooler task because fvck the system. Thank you.

And if it's illegal, you will not get help on here.
And this is a serious forum for adults. Cut out the profanity. -
My 13 year old son and I relax around the house all weekend, we neither have nor make special weekend plans to go anywhere....and we both swear whenever we want because they are just words. Get over the "dirty words" nonsense and concentrate on what is legal or illegal.
-
^^ Is that directed to me ? Maybe you should also re-read the forum rules.
-
Swearing in itself is not abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening or sexually-orientated.
-
What is it then ?
But anyway. Although the rules to not explicitly quote 'streaming audio' one can reasonably assume that the same rule as streaming video or rentals applies.
Nothing to stop you though than actually try to help the OP if you do not agree to that than try to take me on. You will never win there. -
Your avatar image and (in)ability to stick to the subject proves as much buddy.
Okay folks, let's say I DID NOT get the fiel illegally but was instead commissioned by the government to decode it. 'That better? Not to go Leia on this one, but come on videohelp Obi-Wans, you're my only hope here. -
I have no intention of helping this dude.....never did. I have no idea what he is talking about.....which is also why I'm not over at brainsurgeryhelp.com....I know nothing about that either.

tennet, for just two posts, you are not doing well here. If your file turns out to be illegal, even worse.

you couldn't be more right, redwudz!
the topic attracted some dummies that speak about anything in the world rather than actually help, including yourself, if I may, and now there are abt 10 posts and none of them useful. I'm not doing well in solving the task at hand by the means of this forum, that much is true. -

Interesting question. In the past, to record short audio snippets that I was unable to download,
I used Sound Forge to record the audio as it passed through the sound card. It's not the original file,
but it's quite good. Is this legal? I'm just using facilities within the PC itself - no special software involved.
The profanity discussion is something I didn't expect.; my thought is that our opinions are deep seated
and we're not likely to change each others point of view. Should we respect the others point of view? -
No, not when he uses a cutesy misspelling of a very strong swear word even as a part of the title of his thread. DB83 is absolutely right, as is redwudz. If this place has pretensions of being a serious video help site, you don't allow this kind of nonsense to go on, especially not by some brand new fellow looking for help with what is probably something not meant to be taken from that site, and showing no respect for common internet protocol and the rules of this site.
hech54 can raise his children however he likes. None of my business, but this is a public and a family forum. -
Language matters. What you do in the privacy of your home or, heaven help you, with your own children, is your own business. In public (and this is public), it is a different matter.
I would never help anyone who shows such contempt for those around him by choosing to be profane, with absolutely no provocation or need to do so.
Instead of getting angry at those who won't help, you instead might want to examine your own language and habits. The reaction you are getting here is identical to what you will get in many other venues. I would suggest that your life, and the life of your young son, might be a lot more productive, pleasant, and fulfilling, if you start thinking about how other people will react to things that you do, and the way that you do them. -
What do the terms of service from that site say about downloading their content?
Good chance that your "captured" file is fragmented/incomplete/corrupt and most tools will not know how to deal with it at all.
If you want others to respect your questions you need to respect their responses, even if/when you don't like them. That includes curtailing juvenile profanities.
