If you can rip just one episode with the highest quality possible I will pay $10 via PayPal. I want to find out if the quality of the DVD are good enough to buy on eBay.

Just run down to the local WalMart and pick up one season and see for yourself.
Official DVDs are official DVDs wherever you buy them.

Yes but the cost of buying a single season would be more than $20USD likely higher.

You can get the whole first season for less than $14USD at Amazon Canada.

Actually, I believe most of the seasons are available in a two-volume format (it's one of the TV shows my mother collects), and I've been seeing a number of those volumes average about $10 or so at the local Wal-Mart. (Not the latest seasons, of course.)
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

Your rationale is both flawed and, as far as this forum is concerned, illegal.

Assuming that you get someone to rip that episode and pay your 10 bucks, if happy you end up paying 30 or so bucks, using your prices, which would only have cost you 20 bucks in the first place.

But it's illegal to do that anyway and for all we know you are just pirate-fishing.

Go to your local Wal-Mart, Target, etc., buy one of the Season X, Volume 1 (or 2) sets for about $10, and judge the video quality for yourself. If you like it, buy the rest of the sets.

You may also be able to find a used set for a cheaper price, if there's any stores in your area that sells used DVDs.
